Just under three hours prior to the scheduled departure time, my father dropped me and my daughter off at Atlanta Hartsfield/Jackson’s international terminal. This was the return flight to Rome traveling internationally during the Covid virus pandemic.

I have a Italian exchange student that will be heading home in June. I sure hope things will be easier by then. She’s from Sardinia so has to fly thru Atlanta, Amsterdam and then Roma.

Bret, you captured it 100% as I had the same in Atlanta, but would say my experience in Rome was equally chaotic. I was not one of the first to get off the plane, so there was a backlog of Americans and Italians trying to figure out the papers they needed to complete on landing, and of course, no pens. Once completed the paper work, the next desk keyed it in, then the testing process.

Rome was a little more hectic than I gave it credit for. I think I was expecting worse, so it didn't seem as bad as I was expecting. Plus, I was near the front of the line. You're right, once these flights fill up, it's gonna be a zoo!
